Cutting And Harvesting

We are a cutting, top water surface skimming and harvesting operation. Our equipment can run in shallow (18 inches) of water and get the material out of the lake and up to the shore. Specialised in cat tail removal, algae skimming, dead head tree removal or other heavy lifting applications. Minnesota DNR regulations allow for a navigation lane to be opened and maintained for personal marine use in order to reach unobstructed water access. No more clogged props and jet ski intakes! We immediately skim off those nasty floating weeds, filamentous algae and duckweed in much larger areas without expensive chemicals.

Our Service Area

Our base of operations is in central Minnesota. Some remote job locations may require an additional travel charge for longer distances. Have lake neighbours with the same weedy issues? What Happens With The Harvested Weeds?

We provide weed harvesting and extraction and then place the weeds on or near the owner's shoreline for property owner disposal. We recommend letting the weeds dry out and turn them into compost. DNR requirements vary on how to remove them from your lake property.

Area Size:

No permit is typically needed for cutting and harvesting areas 2500 square feet or less. Speciality plants will need a permit in MPARS. If you need more area cleared, you may apply for a permit to treat that larger area here:

Cutting And Harvesting

We cut back the deep water weeds approximatey five feet below the water surface. MN allows for a 15 foot wide navigation lane for your boats and jetski's to get reach unobstructed water. No more clogged props or intakes! We collect the cut weeds and place them on the shoreline for property owner disposal. We recommend letting them dry for a few days and then compost into your garden, or put them on the burn pile.

We do not move lake bottom nor dredge. We do not destroy protected vegetation; please see the MPARS page.

Do I Need A Permit?

You may harvest 2500 square feet of area without any permit required. See rules and regulations. (MN DNR rules and regulations)

If you want more weed area serviced, you apply for, obtain and provide a copy to us when it is issued by the DNR.

We are family owned and operated. Our business was created out of pure necessity. We are lake property owners that have to deal with the mess of weeds blown in from storms and perpetual overgrowth. This is a constant battle in many MN lakes. The high cost and inconsistent results of killing lake weeds with chemical treatments just didn't make sense to use anymore.
